Performance management is a management concept concerning how to manage a company or employee performance. Before a performance can be managed, it have to measure performance first. Performance measure is a metric used to quantify the efficiency and effectiveness on an action.
So..because performance measure is a metric, it could be measured and measurable. Anything that is measured but not measurable is not a metric, so does anything that is measurable but cannot measured cannot called a metric.
Performance measurement is a process of quantifying the efficiency and effectiveness of an action. So performance measurement system is a set of structured metrics and procedures to quantify both effectiveness and efficiency of activities.
Many of us has been performing performance measurement, but sometimes we don’t realize that. Student got exam to measure their performance on subject that they learned about. Completing a scheduled ordered jobs at the right time is a kind of performance measurement. so does with athletes competing in a competition.
